To protect the legal rights of persons with disabilities and ensure their safety, DLAC will:

Investigate reports of abuse and neglect in institutions and community settings
Advocate to eliminate inappropriate restraint/isolation in schools and bullying against students with disabilities
Assist with disability issues in juvenile court cases
Educate the community about emergency preparedness and response
